International guests visiting Klima 2050

In the last week of May, Assistant Professor Vitor Faria e Sousa at Téchnico Lisboa visited SINTEF and NTNU.  On the agenda was collaboration possibilities related to rainwater harvesting. The first collaborative project is already underway through a joint master's thesis. During the spring and summer, the Alma Smart tank at the ZEB Laboratory has been used as a case to explore the potential for rainwater harvesting. The Master's student has been supervised by researchers at both Téchnico Lisboa and SINTEF.

In the collaborative spin-off project EviBAN (Evidence Based Assessment of Natural water retention measures, www.sintef.no/projectweb/eviban/), post doc Ottar Tamm at Aalto University had a short research stay at SINTEF in the first half of June. In this connection, a joint academic day was organized between Aalto University, SINTEF and NTNU exchanging information and discussing future collaboration possibilities. Several possibilities were identified centred around hydrological modelling of stormwater solutions such as green roofs and permeable pavements as well as treatment of polluted stormwater.
