Compact timber roofs with smart moisture barriers

Part of the work carried out by the Klima 2050 Centre to promote climate change adaptation has involved the development of better moisture security for roof constructions. Compact timber roofs installed with smart moisture barriers represent a timely and innovative construction engineering system. They have generated great interest in the market due to their cost-effectiveness, efficient manufacture and association with low greenhouse gas emissions. This work has enabled SINTEF to award its formal Technical Approval to the introduction of compact timber roofs installed with smart moisture barriers. The relevant guidelines have been incorporated as an appendix to the existing guidelines related to construction elements and modules.
