NGI is hosting landslide expert Thomas Badger from the United States from 23 January to 24 March. During his stay at NGI, Tom is carrying out analyses on first-time landslide initiation in over-consolidated clays and contributing to landslide related activities. He is contributing to the development of the web portal on mitigation measures. Tom has a BS in geology and an MS in geological engineering. He recently retired from the Washington State Department of Transportation - WSDOT, ultimately serving as the Chief Engineering Geologist. During his 32-year tenure with WSDOT, he worked on a great variety of transportation-related earthwork and structure projects, as well as many landslide and rock fall remediation projects.
