Learning and competence on climate adaptation – too many guidelines?
At the conference IAPS – International Association People-Environment Studies - in Lund, Sweden, Åshild L. Hauge will present a study of Norwegian guidance material on climate adaptation of buildings and infrastructure in Norway. The objective for this study has been to analyse what characterizes the guidance material. The study will be a basis for further case studies for Klima 2050 in municipalities and organizations.
Les mer her.
Site visit to Gråfonnfjellet
PhD candidate Petter Fornes participated in a site visit to Gråfonnfjellet with colleagues from NVE and the Norwegian Geological Survey, NGU on first and 2nd June. This location is quite active with several types of landslides, including debris flows, and it has been monitored with cameras and a rain gauge station since September 2014 as part of a joint NVE/NGU project.

New Klima 2050 Report: Surveying perception of landslide risk management
Enhanced precipitation due to climate changes leads to increase in both frequency and intensity of landslides in Norway. A proactive approach to risk management is therefore required to significantly reduce the losses associated with landslides. Opinions and perceptions from practitioners on performance of landslide risk management are expected to provide insights on areas for improvement in landslide risk management activities in Norway. They are also useful reference for prioritising future work plans in Klima 2050. For the present study, a survey on landslide risk management perceptions in Norway has been conducted. A total of 28 responses were received. The authors of the report are Jessica Ka Yi Chiu and Unni Eidsvig from NGI.

Klima 2050 at European Geosciences Union conference
Klima 2050 have presented three scheduled contributions at the annual assembly of the European Geosciences Union in Vienna 17-22 April. The contributions raised interest among several scientists who have approached the presenters during the conference. The three presenterts were from NGI: Anders Solheim, Jessica Ka Yi Chiu and Jose Cepeda.
Details and links to abstracts of the contributions are in our list of publications.
Post.doc project: Physical modelling of landslide initiation
Dr. Luca Schiliro from University of Rome is a Post Doc at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute - NGI from January to early July 2016. He is engaged in physical modelling of landslide initiation at regional scale as part of the activities in WP3 "Hydro-meteorologically induced landslides". The study area of Luca is Gudsbrandsdalen, and the events used for calibration are the landslide incidents in 2011 and 2013. The work is carried out in close collaboration with NVE, particularly with the team responsible for the debris flow warning system.

Powel ny partner i Klima 2050
